2012 Young Artists’ String Competition Winners

The Women In Music-Columbus Annual Young Artists String Competition is a performance competition for string players, 16 and younger who reside or take music lessons in central Ohio. This year’s competition took place on Saturday February 18, 2012 at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.  Musicians have an opportunity to place in one of three levels, Gold, Silver or Bronze based on their age.

 Violin – Gold level, 1st Place

 A special thank you to the judges this year; Erin Gilliland (violin), Chad Greenwald (cello/bass), and Bruce Johnson (viola) .

The Young Artist String Competition, which took place on February 18, will present the above winners’ in a recital on Sunday, March 25 at 3pm in the Huntington Recital Hall at Capital University. The recital will include performances by winners of the Young Artist Competition as well as the winners of the Scholarship Auditions. Awards and prize money will be awarded to the top place winners. The concert is free and open to the public.
