Call For Scores From Women Composers

Women in Music-Columbus is issuing a Call for Scores by women composers for possible performance in 2017-18. Venues include the Sunday concert series on the campuses of Capital University and Otterbein University, and Member Musicales in private homes. Composers must be based in the United States and at least 21 years of age by the deadline.

Works are to be solo or chamber works up to five players. Ensembles can be strings or woodwinds or mixed, with or without piano. Additional instruments available include horn, soprano and mezzo-soprano. Of special interest are works for flute or cello ensembles. Shorter works (10 minutes or less) are preferred, although works up to 15 minutes will be considered. Works with electronics will not be considered.

Submissions must be received by Monday, May 15, 2017. You will receive an email confirmation of the receipt of your materials.

If your piece is chosen for performance, a complete set of parts will be required within two weeks of notification.
