‘Peter and the Wolf’ Children’s Concert and WMC Benefit

Through the generosity of Cardinal Health and its Orchestra, a concert benefitting Women in Music – Columbus will take place this Saturday, January 30.  Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ will be presented to local schoolchildren, and any other interested attendees, with reservations.  The concert is free, but donations at the door are encouraged, and Cardinal Health will match the first $1450 received.  Please consider spending Saturday morning with Prokofiev!

Full details below:

Cardinal Health, one of our most steadfast supporters, has agreed to put on a benefit concert of its orchestra on our behalf at the end of January.  The program will be Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’.  The audience will be primarily students and parents in the Worthington and Olentangy school districts.  WMC members are welcome to attend; however, in order to give the schoolchildren time to make their reservations, we are asking that WMC members wait until Friday the 29th to make reservations, unless, of course, you are bringing a child.

WMC will be soliciting free-will donations at the concert, which will be matched by Cardinal Health up to the first $1,450 donated.  This is a wonderful fundraising opportunity for WMC!  Mail-in donations to Women in Music – Columbus, memo ‘Cardinal benefit concert’, can also be accepted at our PO Box (PO Box 14722, Columbus, OH 43214).  Concert schedule:

January 30, 2010
10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Abbey Theater, Dublin Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road, Dublin OH.

Admission is FREE but because seating is limited you must reserve tickets for admission. Either phone 614.410.4550 for tickets or pick them up at the Dublin Recreation Center front desk in advance of the day of the concert. (Tax deductible donations will be accepted at the concert for those who wish to support
Women in Music-Columbus).
